What’s Stopping You From Love?
Friday, February 12th, 2010Dear Friends,
I remember attending spiritual channels many years ago and hearing how we humans were honored for choosing to be here at this time. I had no idea what that meant until the last few years.
As I write this, friend A is freshly recovering from self-inflicted knife wounds, friend B was just rushed to the hospital in what I feel is the first stage of her departure from physical form, friend C is facing a jumbalaya of major life stresses that now include her mother’s (aka friend B’s) quick decline, friends D and E are reeling from the financial and emotional challenges that come from the unexpected passing of a family member and friend F is once more attempting to find a way to live with a child caught in the throes of addiction. I’m going through my own increasing variety of challenges; perhaps you are, too.
Sound anything like your life? Most people I know right now would say yes.
So how do we successfully paddle our boats through the rapids that have become our lives?
How do we have faith when life provides us with dozens of reasons not to believe that better times are coming?
How do we love again after our hearts have been shattered?
Many of us have become world-class snow shovelers this winter, but how do we begin to dig out of the avalanche of life challenges?
I’ve given these questions a great deal of thought, wanting to present an answer that is insightful and perfect. I’ve asked for guidance to assist me in doing this.
And here’s what I’ve come up with; we love.
By doing anything less, we lower ourselves and we limit our service to ourselves, each other, and the planet.
The vibration of love we send and the vibration of love we feel is our greatest gift.
So….
To those who betray us: love.
To those who abandon us: love.
To those who lie to us: love.
To those who do not see us: love.
To those who steal from us: love.
To those who break our hearts: love.
To those who project their fears and self-loathing onto us: love.
To those who break their promises to us: love.
To those who attempt to stop us from reaching our goals: love.
To those who disrespect us: love.
To those who speak words they do not mean: love.
To those who use and abuse: love.
To those who consciously work to bring harm to us: love.
To those who unconsciously work to bring harm to us: love.
To those who unconsciously work to bring harm to themselves: love.
To those who manipulate and control through what they call love but is really fear: love.
To those who cannot or will not love: love.
To those who treat us without love: love.
Why?
Because that’s who we are and that’s what we came here to do.
And if you allow ego’s siren song to stop you from being who you came here to be, how many people, and how many people who are connected to those people, have you harmed who you could have potentially helped?
Is it logical? No.
Do you have anything better to offer?
